Former rally winner sings West Cork praises

19 Feb 2017

Robert Barrable, a former West Cork Rally winner, returns to the sport this year. The Dubliner, in a recent interview with Martin Walsh in the Irish Examiner was quick to praise our Clonakilty based rally.

"I like the West Cork, we get a great welcome in Clonakilty and I think it is probably the most underrated rally in the whole country," commented Robert.

Robert won in West Cork in 2011 with Damien Connolly navigating their Skoda Fabia S2000 by 1.3 seconds over Darragh O'Riordan/Tony McDaid, Subaru Impreza WRC S12. The Barrables have the unique result of both father and son winning the West Cork Rally as dad Michael won the event in 2006 navigated by Dermot O'Gorman, driving a Ford Focus.
